Vida Cursó estudios de Medicina en París, obteniendo la licenciatura y el título de médico colegiado en 1770. Parece ser que cultivó su profesión médica con buen tino, motivo por el cual sería elegido en 1789 como diputado del tercer estado en los Estados Generales convocados por el rey Luis XVI de Francia que sirvieron de preámbulo al estallido de la Revolución Francesa.
