Numeración binaria En matemáticas, numeración en base 2, que utiliza solamente las cifras 0 y 1 para representar un número cualquiera. Es una numeración especialmente usada en informática. Todo número natural puede expresarse en dicho sistema mediante el empleo de dos símbolos (0 y 1 o 0 y L) que resultan del desarrollo de un número en potencias de 2; así, por ejemplo: 15 = 8 – 4 – 2 – 1 = 1.23 – 1.22 – 1.21 – 1.20 = 1111 (o también LLLL). Se obtiene así la siguiente tabla para los diez primeros números:
